Pokerstars finally prohibits seating scripts
Pokerstars management seems to be jealous of the dominance of other poker rooms and networks in the news feed. Even if the actions of competitors cause predictably negative reactions from the poker players and the poker community. "Enough to endure it!" - decided Stars and again improved the ecosystem.
Over the past month, Partypoker and the Chico Poker Network have posted statements banning the use of HUDs. Chico's restrictive measures have already taken effect, while party poker is in the immediate vicinity (a possible deadline is set for April 15). Just over a month ago, Pokerstars themselves, as befits the leader of the online poker industry, set a prohibitive trend, making it impossible to select opponents based on almost any type of information (tags, information from Sharkscope and Pokerprolabs databases). The developers of specialized software for finding the desired opponents somehow managed to adapt their product and, albeit in a truncated form, provided the opportunity for players to select. As it turned out, not for long.
Magic seat almost could
Pokerstars announced plans to ban the support software for selecting opponents in advance, giving developers several months to make changes to their programs and bring them in line with the changed requirements of the poker room. The creators of Magic seat did an original way: they reworked the program so that it puts the player at the new table third. As conceived by the authors, a regular table starts, a hobby player joins it (a professional poker player will not sit second and play HA with another player of the same kind) and here we are already put in a position with a supposed recreational player using a script. A controversial solution to the problem with select and bypassing the new rules, but it has the right to life. Rather, before the Magic seat was included in the list of officially prohibited programs for use.
Reasons for the sudden ban
The original table landing algorithm seemed to fit into the updated rules and requirements of Pokerstars. But everything was solved by small details that no one even thought about at first. The magic script of the landing created another problem - the “zerg rush” (crowd) of regular players, instantly clogging the entire table with those who wanted to feast on the stack of only the seated fish. Moreover, the Magic seat also generated huge waiting lists for this table. As a result, there are massive complaints from players about landing scripts and an excellent formal reason to continue the persecution and an irreconcilable struggle with the auxiliary poker software. Together with the Magic seat, "Hiroku autoseating script" and "SeatMojo" are on display.
An alternative point of view on auto-landing scripts
Landing scripts have long been at the service of the vast majority of professional poker players at Pokerstars. Their widespread distribution has led to the following consequences:
- Paranoia in Hobby Players: Imagine the train of thought of a person who has come to a table to have a good time. A table instantly gathered under him. In a short period of time, the recreational player lost his blinds and went sit-out. And along with it - in a matter of seconds - the rest of the table. Thoughts about a room scam or bots come naturally;
- Huge queues at the tables, which do not allow collecting more or less decent tables above nl10 due to the clogged waiting lists by happy "exploiters of the system" and "poker-pro who are one step ahead";
- The real advantage from the situation was only the software developers themselves, who received a guaranteed monthly payment for the tool, which did not give even a fraction of the previous efficiency.
The fight for the environment is getting tougher. The possibility of a more or less decent selection of TableScan Turbo is still left. It was almost not cut or limited. It's just that now it is targeting players not as fish, but as unknown players. In most cases, they are the same thing.
Nevertheless, in the current environment, it is becoming increasingly important to work on improving your game. Adequate knowledge of your ranges and combinatorics is essential here. Hence, the need for equity calculators like Flopzilla or Power-Equilab becomes just vital.
Another useful auxiliary poker software (which is unlikely to ever repeat the fate of landing scripts) is StarsCaption. Many small advantages provided by the program grow into colossal benefits for the poker player at the PokerStars tables. Psychology has been on the sidelines of the poker community for a very long time. It was only in recent years that scrapping began to occur and an understanding of the importance of the thought process for a professional player came. Ian Taylor's Poker Thinking book is a great foundation in developing the right mindset and focusing on the meaningful things on the road to poker success.
